Michael J. Berman
Born on November 24, 1965, Michael Jonah Berman has worked as a social studies teacher, teaching American history, American government, and comparative government, as well as Hebrew. Raised in the Jewish religion, he has studied and interacted with members of several religions throughout his life, always willing to wage peace despite his fallibility. He describes his belief system as spiritual or non-denominational.
He has come to see and embrace the value of both religion and philosophy, doing his best not to confuse extremists with peaceful, law-abiding followers. Now retired, he continues to write and edit books and essays. He is currently writing a non-fiction book explaining life as a Jewish Zionist in the United States—the first modern nation-state to enshrine the full legal protection and recognition of Jewish civil liberties in its Constitution.
He is an avid animal lover, having been the dad or brother of both dogs and cats. An avid fan of the James Bond films since he was six years old, Michael is the proud dad of a cat named Double O Seven.
